Questionaire
Where do you live and what do you like most about it?
I live in Norwich, what I like most is that it’s quite a big city with a small town atmosphere.
Have you always lived in this region?
I lived in Stowmarket, Suffolk for 18 years, Luton (Uni) for 3 and then Norwich.
Using just three words, how would you describe yourself?
Sensitive, energetic, confident (most of the time!)
What is your idea of a perfect evening out?
(Thinking back to my recent holiday) A warm evening at a campsite, a few drinks with friends, then a nice meal followed by a few more drinks and a cigar!
What do you like least about this region?
Hunting for sport.
What is your favourite food?
I have many (!) but I guess paella is one of them.
What do you do in your spare time?
Spend time with boyfriend, go to the gym, play football for the Anglia girls team, karate, see friends, watch tv.
What do you enjoy watching on television?
Documentaries, news and Eastenders!
What do you think you would be doing now if you hadn’t made a career in television?
Continued DJ’ing, gone on to the stage or maybe trained to be a nurse or a vet. (I wanted to do a lot of things!)
What has been your most nerve-racking moment?
The first time I ever spoke on the radio. At Anglia I guess it would be the first rooftop bulletin I ever did.
What advice would you give anyone who wants to work in television?
Do a simple showreel showing how you are naturally and then send it out to everyone!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given and by whom?
My sister has this stuck on her fridge and I like it a lot!
‘Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Work like you don’t need the money.
And dance like nobody’s watching.’
What is the worst job you have ever had?
I worked in a fruit and veg packing factory for a few ‘student summers’ and it involved sorting through, sometimes, mouldy food - yuk!
What has been the toughest challenge in your career so far?
I had to do a parachute jump when I worked at Vibe FM - I can’t even stand rollercoasters so that was very tough. I loved it in the end but never again!
Given the opportunity, is there anything you would do differently now?
I don’t think so, I’ve always tried new things and challenged myself - if it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t but everything can be put down to experience.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?
The lovely comments and letters I get. Also knowing that I’m doing something that I’ve always wanted to do.
Among your family and friends, who are your greatest supporters?
All my family is very supportive but I guess my boyfriend Pablo is my greatest fan!
Do you have any unfulfilled ambitions?
I would love to sing professionally. I sing all the time to anything - drives people crazy I’m sure!
